Tilspire 1.14.0
A menu that never folds or scrolls, an AI mode one keystroke away, and separate sign-ins for the site and the admin panel.
tilspire 1.14.0 reshapes the admin panel around the AI: a menu that stays put however much you install, an AI mode one keystroke away, and sign-ins that fit how you actually work.
A menu that never folds or scrolls #
The admin menu is now five sections — Content, Community, Site, People and System — with each section's pages as a row of tabs above the page. Nothing folds away and nothing scrolls, however many modules you add. On a phone the menu drills down, System opens on an overview of every system page, and the dashboard can list everything in the admin in one widget. See The admin panel.
AI mode #
Ask Tilspire at the foot of the menu, the AI switch, or Ctrl+J turns the whole panel into the Assistant, and Esc takes you back. While it works you see each step, what it looked up and what it found, and Stop ends it between steps and always before it proposes anything.
Sign in once on the site, prove it again for the panel #
Staff now sign in on the site like members, and Keep me signed in keeps you there for up to 30 days. The admin panel asks for your password and second factor itself, and again after a while without use — 30 minutes by default, which you can change under System ▸ Settings ▸ Security. Extending an Operator API credential now adds to its current expiry, with your proof each time.
Worth knowing when you update #
- Sessions are now kept in
site/sessions/. Behind nginx, add a rule refusing it, as you have forsite/backups/andsite/cache/. - If your theme is a copy of the starter theme and asks
can('access_admin')to decide who is staff, change it toisStaff()— see Themes. - Updating signs everyone out once, members included, because sessions move to the new folder.
This announcement and the updated documentation were proposed through the Operator API and approved by a person. See the changelog for everything in the release.
